Golf del Sur
Golf del Sur is located in the south of Tenerife in the San Miguel area, a course built by José Gancedo opening the game in the late 1980, over the years Golf del Sur has been expanding its course turning it into a tourist complex, from apartments to 5-star hotels giving their players an unforgettable experience.
Golf del Sur is recognized for its highest-level competitions, it hosted the Tenerife Open in 1989, 1992, 1993 and 1994 belonging to the PGA European Volvo Tour with the victory of María Olazabal twice and David Gilford and Mark James. In 1995 he held the Shell Wonderful World of golf tournament where Ernie Els and Phil Mickelson faced each other.
Golf del Sur has been the scene of 2 Longest Drive world records achieved by the British Karl Woodward; Golf del Sur also starred in women's golf with the first edition of the Tenerife Ladies Open.
