Change your grips
This is the most asked question that we get asked, it’s an easy answer 40 rounds of golf, taking that every time go to the driving range its one game of golf.
Gran Canaria can get them changed in Las Palmeras Golf
Tenerife can get their grips changed in Las Chafiras & Costa Adeje (Driving range)
Lanzarote Can you get change by our Sales Rep, message us your number & Adam will call you back.
The eye test is generally a good place to start when assessing the state of your rubber handles. If significant wear exists, or if you’re noticing the grip is starting to slip in your hands on humid or rainy days — this is one of the worst feelings in the world — it’s time for a fresh set. But like a set of tires, you don’t want to replace them when they’re completely bald and fraying.
Heat, dirt, and oils from your hands are biggest culprits when it comes to the natural degradation of a grip. As the grip starts to wear down, bad habits start to creep in that can lead to poor shots and a lack of confidence. One way to combat the wear and tear is to wash your grips with soapy water after every couple of rounds to remove the dirt and oil accumulation, but even that won’t keep you from eventually replacing them.
Several years back, Golf Pride conducted a study that revealed a set of worn, two-year-old grips can cost a golfer 3-4 shots, on average, over the course of a round. Think about those numbers for a moment and you begin to see the importance of keeping up with the tread on your grips.
Become a better golfer
So you’ve been playing golf for quite a while now, using the clubs you purchased off the rack in a golf store. You went for the decent brand, and you took them straight to the driving range to put a couple of buckets of range balls to the test and were happy enough. However, some time has passed, and you want to improve your game, but aren’t quite sure what direction to go.
Get lessons from your local golf pro is a good start, everyone needs to get lessons for sure you will need to do a package of Lessons to see any kind of improvement.
You are sure that newer clubs will make you play better, when in your golf store you will see many golf clubs at all different price ranges, will the more expensive golf clubs make you play better, Yes & No only if the shaft & head are right for you.
If the goal is for you to become a better golfer (which it should be at this point) why would you not put more money into your game at the front end?
The bottom line is your swing will not improve until you have a properly fitted set of clubs, which you won’t get from the standard set you purchase from a store.
Everyone stands, swings a different way, its very important to spend some time with a clubs fitter / Maker, he need to under stand what the club needs to do for you & how he is going to set them up for you, its also very important that he is using a Rader it is impossible to guess your number.
Custom golf clubs are an individualized set and have characteristics that are created for your body’s attributes and your swing style alone. Many clients are shocked when they realize the complex number of measurements and analysis involved in the production of custom golf clubs.
A fitting session with a reputable custom golf club fitter can sometimes take 2 to 3 hours when looking at your whole bag.
There is not one important aspect of the fitting is measuring & weighting proper length of club, and this includes the golfer’s overall height, proportion of the body, such as leg and arm lengths, age, posture, and many other physical factors. Even the width of your hand is a necessary measurement that must be considered.
Have you ever picked up a club that didn’t feel comfortable in your hands? It’s because the grip is not right for you.
Buying a set of custom golf clubs is one of the great investments you can make to improve your game, and a necessity if you want to be able to maximize the quality of your swing. You will need to look after your custom clubs & get them looked over one time a year, you have to make sure that the loft & lie have not moved, the more you please the more they move. I goof fitter will always ask you to come back after playing some rounds of golf to have a look over the set to make sure you are still playing your best. He might have to make one or two changes to your set up
Before making your clubs fitting appointment ask if you can have a talk to the Fitter / Maker to make sure your feel happy with what he is telling you, you might not fully understand what he tells you but if it makes sense he’s your man
Important always give your feed back about the clubs, if you don’t like them, he needs to know, they can be changes to make you feel better.
Tell the club making in the shop, I change my grip after 40 rounds you will get 20% discount!
